Minister of Culture meets with the Italian delegation

A number of high-level guests of the VI World Intercultural Dialogue Forum, held in our country on May 1-3, are holding bilateral meetings and discussing cooperation relations.

On May 3, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli met with a delegation headed by Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Italy Giorgio Mule.

Expressing his gratitude to the delegation for their participation in the Forum, the Minister provided information about the "Baku Process" put forward by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008 and the World Intercultural Dialogue Forum held within the framework of this global platform. He said that this year's Forum also has a rich program and fruitful discussions were held on issues that concern humanity.

It was noted that the Azerbaijani state attaches great importance to cooperation with Italy. It is no coincidence that in 2014, a Joint Declaration "On Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Italy" was signed. Cultural cooperation between the two countries is also developing. In particular, ties in such areas as the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, architecture and design are strengthening year by year. The Azerbaijani side is also interested in cooperation with Italy in the field of cinema.

Expressing his gratitude for the meeting, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Giorgio Mule expressed his satisfaction with his participation in the Forum.

The guest, noting that Azerbaijan is an important partner for Italy, drew attention to the fact that cooperation between our countries covers a wide range of areas. It was noted that good relations have been established between the two countries in the field of higher education. The Italian-Azerbaijani University project at ADA University is a vivid manifestation of this. It was also reported that professors of partner higher education institutions of Italy regularly deliver lectures at ADA University.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on the organization of reciprocal guest performances of theaters of the two countries and other issues of interest.
